Dad Gareth Bale, whose girlfriend Emma Rhys-Jones gave birth to a baby girl a few days ago, marked his return from his paternity leave with a goal against Southampton.
Bale was the first to enter the scoring sheet against the Saints, netting the opener after just 15 minutes. While his celebrations were “muted out of respect” for his childhood club, Bale did not refuse to make his usual sweetheart sign for his girlfriend Emma Rhys-Jones.

Gareth Bale made an emotional return, with his girlfriend and his baby in his mind…
Clint Dempsey then added a second before the break for Tottenham Hotspur, before Rodriguez reduced the home side’s deficit to make the final score line 2-1.
The Mirror quoted Gareth Bale saying after the match:
“It was a bit emotional scoring but the main thing was to come here and do a job.
“I have been here since I was nine years old and it was nice to score.”
Bale missed the London derby against Chelsea on October 20th, after he had to rush to attend the birth of his baby girl.
