For Victoria Beckham, her struggle to control her emotions on the night of the British Fashion Awards 2011 opened the door for the public to truly see who she was.
Metro.co.uk reports that a piece of her interview with Harper’s Bazaar read: “When they read my name, I was genuinely not expecting it.
Victoria explained: “It was an out-of-body experience – like my heart was going to jump out of my body.
“I came offstage and said, ‘I cried three times, I didn’t thank the people I wanted to thank, I was really rubbish’”.
But Beckham thought that the consequences were far from negative: “I think people saw the real me… and the truth is, I would have felt much more comfortable in my pyjamas with the kids and (my husband) David in a hotel watching it on TV.”
