The FIFA Puskas Award 2011 is all about world football’s very best goals.

Top 10 goals shortlist: Nominees are Benjamin de Ceulaer from Belgium, Giovanni Dos Santos and Julio Gomez from Mexico, Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Sweden, Lisandro Lopez and Lionel Messi from Argentina, Neymar from Brazil, Heather O’Reilly from USA, Wayne Rooney from England, and Dejan Stankovic from Serbia.
Final Three: Lionel Messi, Neymar, Wayne Rooney
Voting procedure: The FIFA Football Committee last year released a list of video highlights, related to their selection of the top 10 goals. FIFA.com users were asked to vote for their favourite goals based on the list; but they could only do so till December 5.
The list was then cut to the Final Three candidates with the most votes. Users now have the chance to vote for their best candidate till the FIFA Ballon d’Or Gala 2011 on 9 January 2012.
The winner overall will receive the FIFA Puskas Award 2011 in Zurich.
Additional note: This award is referred to as the FIFA Puskas Award 2012 by some people.
