Draw explanation: The 2011-12 UEFA Champions League draw for the knockout phase will only have effects on the 16 remaining football teams in the competition. These clubs are the runners-up and winners of the 8 groups – in other words, the top 2 clubs from Group A to Group H.

These 16 clubs will be divided into pots and then placed against each other, so as to form 8 fixtures in the end. Losers from the 2011-12 UEFA Champions League Round of 16 onward will automatically be disqualified with no chance of entering the 2011-12 UEFA Europa League.

This UEFA Champions League draw for the Round of 16 will precede the quarter-finals draw.
